About the Project

Hagiografia Ginandromorfica

Hagiografia Ginandromorfica is a project about the representation and critical study of the life of fictional saints exhibiting morphological characteristics of both genders. Starting from historical accuracies, the pieces reinvent facts and aspects of different emblematic characters, like the thirteen apostles, or other saint-martyrs like St. Agatha, St. Barbara or St. Lucia.

The project has a non-binary approach on physicality and spirituality, on archaic traditions and modern visions, from a post-political point of view. The pieces display the precarious relationship between religious faith and sexuality, with its historical, social and political repercussions.
